BIDDEFORD, Maine – Roger Williams University picked up a 20-6 victory over the University of New England in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's lacrosse matchup at UNE Blue Bolt Field on Saturday afternoon.
Brooke McErlain led the Hawks with seven goals, all in the first half, and four ground balls. Ryleigh Cavanaugh added four goals and assist and 17 draw controls.
Roger Williams (13-1, 7-0 CCC) took a 3-0 lead in the first 2:37 of action after goals by Mandy Beck, Devon Sarazin, and McErlain.

Beck extended the lead to 6-1 with a score in the opening minute of the second quarter.
Morgan White answered for the UNE only 40 seconds later. McErlain scored five of the next six goals, broken up only by a marker from Stowell, as Roger Williams began to pull away and led 11-3 with 5:53 remaining in the half. Kimmy Creegan and Cavanaugh sandwiched Hartigan's second score of the game for UNE as the Hawks took a 12-4 lead into the break.
Cavanaugh had three second-half goals for Roger Williams.
Abby McHallam scored twice for UNE who fell to 3-11 overall and 2-5 in CCC play.
Stowell picked up a team-high three ground balls and two draw controls while also forcing one turnover.
Madison Bruzzese made 11 saves for the Nor'easters. Hannah Goodwin had four stops in goal for the Hawks.
The Nor'easters visit Curry to close out the regular season on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
