Carroll defeats Nor'easters in 6 innings

CLERMONT, Fla. -- Carroll University (Wisc.) scored twice in the top of the 1st inning and never looked back on the way to a 10-1 (6 inning) result versus the University of New England on Sunday afternoon (Mar. 13) at The Spring Games.

Three more in the 4th made the cushion six for the Pioneers (4-1) before the Nor'easters (0-2) got on the board in the last half of the frame. Two-run hits by Kaylee Learman and Madison Wagner in the 6th padded the lead. Eight different players cross the plate.

Andrea Kuhne hurled six strikeouts in the circle for Carroll. The run UNE scored was unearned, on a based-loaded error, and she allowed five hits.

Taylor Depot accounted for two of the hits for the Nor'easters. Makenzy Herron reached with a hit and tallied the lone run in the 4th. Alie Martell took the loss in three innings of work, giving up one earned run of the three scored during her time.
