Babson bests UNE in season opener, 5-0

CLERMONT, Fla. -- Chloe Joslin had the game's only two extra-base hits and drove in three as Babson College recorded a 5-0 decision against the University of New England in softball action Sunday morning (Mar. 13) at The Spring Games.

The Beavers (6-2) received a seven strikeout performance from Logan MacDonald in the circle, against just two hits and four walks. A two-out triple by Joslin plated the first two runs in the bottom of the 4th inning, and two more in the 6th completed the scoring. The second hit by Kate Karamouzis, who scored on Joslin's first hit, knocked in another run in the 6th (4-0). Karamouzis then stole second and scored again off the bat of Joslin.

Audrey Gavin and Abby Walsh had the hits for the Nor'easters (0-1). Jordan Strum struck out three and did not concede any free passes while allowing seven hits.
