KINGSTON, R.I. -- The University of New England women's swimming teams amassed 725 points to place 5th out of 13 programs at the 2022 New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships, which wrapped up day four on Sunday (Feb. 27) at the Tootell Aquatic Center on the University of Rhode Island campus. UNE was the 4th Division III squad in the final standings.
The Nor'easters wound up finishing behind Roger Williams University (1977), Division II Stonehill College (984), Regis College (807), and Norwich University (754.5), and ahead of Simmons University (714), Husson University (599), and others.
UNE received the Steve Looke Team Sportsmanship Award on top of posting nine All-NEISDA performances during the meet, which included three from
Haley Griffin and two each by
Katie Durrua and
Annika Doeppers. Durrua earned a medal in the 200-yard butterfly, touching the wall in 3rd position.
Additionally,
Rick Hayes was named Co-Coach of the Year on the women's side of the championships, and
Taylor Gibson earned a place on the All-Sportsmanship Team.
