BIDDEFORD, Maine –
Meghan Hamilton scored two second period goals to lift the University of New England past Curry College, 3-1, in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's ice hockey matchup at the Harold Alfond Forum on Saturday night.
Curry controlled the puck most of the first period and outshot UNE 14-8, but was unable to get on the board until a goal by Ainsley Wescott from the point with 11.9 seconds remaining. Danielle Stein and Rowan Nasty assisted on the goal.
The Nor'easters dominated the second period with an 18-2 advantage in shots.
Avery Lutrzykowski found Hamilton in the left circle and the senior finished to the top corner just 28 seconds into the period to tie the game at 1-1 [

Eliana Kane added some insurance for UNE in the third period as she intercepted a clear attempt and skated through four defenders, scoring with a back-handed shot to the top corner. [

The Nor'easters outshot the Colonels 35-26 on the night.
Delanie Corcoran made 25 stops to pick up the victory in goal. Anna Langton had 32 saves for Curry.
UNE visits Amherst College on the road Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
