Suffolk blanks UNE, 2-0

EAST BOSTON, Mass. – Suffolk University defeated the University of New England, 2-0, in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's ice hockey matchup at Porrazzo Rink on Friday evening.
 
Shana Cote put the Rams on the board with a power-play goal 10:40 into the first period. Leslie Steiner and Jesse Kennedy provided assists. Kennedy scored a goal of her own with 6:02 left to play in third to give Suffolk a 2-0 lead. Sam Molind and Cassidy Gruning helped on the final Rams marker.
 
Delanie Corcoran stopped a season-high 50 shots in goal for the Nor'easters who now sit at 5-5 overall and 4-3 in CCC play. Lily O'Neil saved all 19 shots she faced for Suffolk who improve to 7-3 and 6-1 in the conference.
 
The teams meet again tomorrow at the Harold Alfond Forum at 4 p.m.
