BIDDEFORD, Maine – Jared Christy scored two goals to help the University of New England to a 4-1 victory over Suffolk University in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's ice hockey battle at the Harold Alfond Forum on Friday night.
The victory snapped the Nor'easters two-game skid as they improve to 5-3-0 overall and 5-2-0 in conference play. The Rams now sit at 1-6-1 overall and 1-6-0 in the CCC.
Both offenses were quiet in the first period until Christy broke through for UNE with 13.3 seconds left.
Logan DiScanio stopped a clear attempt by the Rams and hit Christy in front of the net for the opening goal. [

Alex Sheehy left the puck near the top of the circle and Christy finished for his second of the game to give the Nor'easters a 2-0 lead 2:53 into the second period.

Daniel Winslow also provided an assist on the Nor'easters fourth goal. Will MacNeil halted the shutout as he put Suffolk on the board with 1:58 left.
Billy Girard IV stopped 19 of the 20 shots he faced for UNE. Cal Wilcox allowed three goals and made 29 saves over the first two periods between the pipes for the Rams, and Jarret Bovarnick had 11 saves in the third.
Both teams are back in action at Porrazzo Rink in East Boston, Mass. tomorrow at 4:50 p.m.
