BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England holds the 2nd position in the women's standings for the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-Sports Trophy, based on the initial season of competition from the 2022-23 academic year.
Endicott College leads the women's competition with an 8.00 average, not far in front of the Nor'easters (7.75). Western New England University (6.40), Roger Williams University (6.20), Salve Regina University (6.10), and Gordon College (6.00) occupy spots three through six out of the 10 member institutions.
The Nor'easters, who sponsor four of the five CCC sports during the season, received 10 points from the
field hockey champions and another nine each from runner-up cross country and soccer.
Over the seven years that the trophy has been awarded, the UNE women have finished either second (three times) or third (four times).

On the men's side, the Nor'easters sit in a tie for seventh (4.67). Roger Williams has a perfect 10.00 average at the top of the list, followed by Suffolk University (9.00) and Endicott (8.67).
The conference all-sports trophy was introduced in 2013-14 and is awarded annually to the institution that performs the best across all league competition. Points are awarded based on CCC tournament championships (10 points) and tournament runner-up finishes (9 points), followed by the regular-season position (8 points, etc.) in the standings for the remaining teams. The final average score is then determined by dividing the total points by the number of CCC sports sponsored by that institution.
