BIDDEFORD, Maine – The University of New England women's ice hockey team stormed to a 3-0 victory over Curry College in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup at the Harold Alfond Forum on Friday evening.
Carolyn Curley started the night for the Nor'easters with her first goal of the season with 4:08 left in the 1
st period. She took a pass from
Maeve Crehan off a faceoff and scored top-shelf from the slot to put UNE in front. [

Early in the second period
Keely Kasputis took a pass from
Hannah Humes and went the distance. Her original shot was saved but the rebound bounced off a Curry player and in to put the Nor'easters ahead 2-0, four minutes into the frame. [

Piper Desorcie buried the rebound off a shot by
Meghan Hamilton in the third period for the Nor'easters' final goal of the game. Kasputis assisted on the third-period score. [

Delanie Corcoran stopped 12 shots on the night to earn the shutout in goal. UNE controlled the puck all night and outshot the Colonels 52-12 overall. Soleil Archambeault had 49 saves for Curry in the loss.
The teams are back in action tomorrow afternoon at the Canton Ice House in Canton, Mass. at 3 p.m.
