The hosts posted a hitting percentage of .486 in the match and received 12 kills from Jordan Shaduk, 11 out of Annie Murphy, and nine off the hand of Valerie Nilan. Kate Howe framed the offense with 34 assists, and factored in five of Gordon's seven blocks. Nikki Batson had a team-high six digs.
For UNE,
Ellijah Hanley recorded 10 kills and
Kailyn Reilly added seven on 11 error-less swings (match-best .636).
Lauren Davenport also connected for seven kills, while picking up eight digs to lead all players.
Emma Chase totaled 27 assists for the attack.
Contrary to when the squads met in Biddeford back on September 28, and UNE held a two-set lead until the Fighting Scots rallied for the win, Gordon jumped out to a 5-0 cushion in the 1st set. After the spread got to 10-3, the Nor'easters hung around to make it 17-13, but a pair of kills by Murphy helped the hosts finish off the period.
UNE had a good start to the 2nd, taking four of the initial five points, but things quickly flipped into a 16-6 Gordon advantage. Mia Serna notched three of her four service aces during the run. The Nor'easters almost made up half the difference as the set continued, but by then it was too late.
The Scots recorded the first three points of the 3rd and built the gap to 19-10 before basically exchanging plays the rest of the way.
