Belisle scores late to secure UNE's 1-1 draw at Suffolk

BOSTON, Mass. Karley Belisle scored the tying goal with 1:02 remaining to help the University of New England women's soccer team to a 1-1 draw with Suffolk in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup on Saturday afternoon.
 
Neither team found the scoreboard in the first half. The Nor'easters (7-3-2, 2-0-2 CCC) had more chances on goal at 4-1 in the period.
 
The second half began much the same way and UNE had the only shot on goal before the Rams broke through in the 79th minute. Chelsea Fallon booted home a corner kick by Molly Knight to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.
 
With time winding down, Rachel Sledjeski found Belisle for a goal to knot the game in the 89th minute. Suffolk (3-5-3, 0-2-2 CCC) had a late corner kick attempt but were unable to pull out a victory.
 
Shots favored the Nor'easters 10-6 on the day. Sydney Gillingham made one save for UNE. Sophia Baker had a five stops for the Rams.
 
UNE returns to the field on Tuesday afternoon at Gordon at 4 p.m.
