Suffolk blanks UNE, 4-0

BOSTON, Mass. – Suffolk University shutout the University of New England, 4-0, in commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's soccer action in Boston on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Rams jumped on the Nor'easters early with two goals in the first 3:37 of play. Carter Van Buskirk scored the first goal off an assist from Tommy Handelsman just 1:03 into the game. Van Buskirk found Brandy Sorenson for a score only 2:34 later to make it 2-0 in favor of Suffolk.
 
Handelsman extended the host's lead to 3-0 in the 23rd minute with an unassisted marker. Dominic Rinaldi added the final goal in the 27th minute with help from Damon Smargon and Taj Jensen.
 
Xander Balog made four saves in the shutout for the Rams who outshot UNE 21-12 on the afternoon. Triston O'Hagan had six saves for the Nor'easters
 
UNE visits Gordon on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
