BIDDEFORD, Maine – Western New England University picked a 1-0 victory over the University of New England in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's soccer battle at Hazard Field on Saturday afternoon.
In the 19
th minute a clear attempt by the Nor'easters found the foot of Sean Lanzillo, who buried it to the right corner from the top of the box for the lone goal of the game. Neither team had many chances the rest of the half.
Western New England outshot UNE, 5-1, in the second half, and 10-2 on the day.
Triston O'Hagan made four saves in the loss. Roger Leland was untested in the shutout victory.
UNE returns to the field on the road at Wentworth on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.
