Statistics

CANTON, Mass. Piper Desorcie scored three goals as the University of New England completed a weekend sweep of Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opponent Curry College with a 5-0 victory at the Canton Ice House on Saturday afternoon.

It was the program's first-ever natural hat trick, as Desorcie recorded the first three of the game for UNE (6-9-1, 6-5-1 CCC). She joins seven others with a share of the Nor'easter single-game mark -- the first since January 2019 -- and she is now tied for the team lead with six goals this season.

Carolyn Curley and Avery Lutrzykowski provided assists for Desorcie on the first goal of the game at the 11:30 mark of the opening period. She added her second 3:57 into the second period with help from Meghan Hamilton and McKenna Remillard. Desorcie completed the hat trick with an unassisted marker with 16:22 left to play in the game.

The Nor'easters tacked on two goals in the final minute of regulation to extend the margin out to 5-0. Curley, who is level with Desorcie for the team lead in goals, added a power play score off a pass from Bella Crugnale with 54 seconds left. Elizabeth Walsh found Keely Kasputis for the final goal with two seconds remaining.

Delanie Corcoran made 15 saves to pick up her second shutout of the season. Anna Langton had 31 stops for Curry, which falls to 3-13-0 overall and 1-9-0 in conference play.

UNE returns to the ice on the road against Worcester State on Friday at 8 p.m.
