BIDDEFORD, Maine –
Meghan Hamilton scored the tying goal with 46.1 seconds remaining as the University of New England rallied from a two-goal deficit to tie with Western New England University, 2-2, in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's hockey clash on Saturday afternoon at the Harold Alfond Forum.
The Nor'easters pulled
Delanie Corcoran out the goal with 56 seconds left to get an extra skater for the final push. Hamilton put back the rebound after a scramble in front off a shot by
Piper Desorcie to knot the game seconds later [

Keely Kasputis put UNE on the board for the first time with 8:07 to play in the third as
Anna O'Neill found her with a pass across the middle [

Maeve Crehan also assisted on the Nor'easters first goal.
Western New England struck first in the final minute of the opening period on a goal by Alexa Paoli with help from Kelly Yorkey. Those two added assists on the Golden Bear's next goal by Katie Cronin at the 7:05 mark of the second period.
Each team had a few good chances in the extra period. The Nor'easters nearly won it late in overtime, but a shot by
Carolyn Curley just missed the mark.
Overall shots favored the Nor'easters 33-25, including a 19-7 margin in the third period. Corcoran had 23 saves for UNE. Sierra Dennis made 31 stops for the Golden Bears.
The Nor'easters are back in action tomorrow on the road at #10 Endicott beginning at 3 p.m.
