UNE breezes past SJC, 3-0

STANDISH, Maine -- The University of New England utilized significant runs in each set as it cruised to a 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-12) women's volleyball victory over Saint Joseph's College on Saturday morning (Sep. 4) at the Harold Alfond Center.

The Nor'easters broke away from a tied opening frame (9-9) with a 12-2 spurt, started the 2nd set with 16 of the initial 21 points, and strung together 14 in-a-row in the 3rd -- again to separate from a deadlocked score (8-8).

Pacing UNE (2-0) was Viktoria Pavlyuk and Lauren Davenport with eight and seven kills, respectively. Addie Miller put up 20 assists, added four service aces, and collected 11 digs. Victoria Boutin tallied 18 digs to guide the defensive effort, and Stephanie Erickson turned in a pair of solo blocks.

For the Monks (0-3), Sarah Quinn went for five kills and Hanna Holden totaled team highs of 19 assists and nine digs.
