BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Eric LaBrie netted three goals to lift Thomas College in a 3-1 men's soccer result against the University of New England on Saturday afternoon (Sep. 4) at Barbara J. Hazard Field.

LaBrie's 6th-minute tally put the visitors in front for good, and doubled the margin less than two minutes into the 2nd half.

The Nor'easters (1-1) got on the board in the 82nd minute as Will Smith delivered a header just under the crossbar off a corner-kick service by Karl Mohr. But LaBrie capped the hat trick with 32 second remaining in the match to seal the outcome.

Shots were 11-6 in favor of the Terriers (1-0), who received one stop from Jonathan LeClair. On the other end, Sean McCarthy recorded two saves.

UNE is back on the pitch Wednesday at Bowdoin College.
