SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Chris Allen had a goal and an assist as Western New England University defeated the University of New England, 3-0, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's soccer play at Suprenant Field on Saturday afternoon.
 
Mike Milazzo found Allen in the box in the 14th minute to put the Golden Bears (4-1-1, 1-0-0 CCC) ahead 1-0 early. Matt Remillard crossed a ball into Milazzo in the 22nd minute. Milazzo one-touched the ball to Zach Allard to extend the lead to 2-0.
 
Jonny Clough had an open tap in for a score off a pass from Allen in the 64th minute for the final WNE score.
 
The Golden Bears outshot the Nor'easters 26-3 overall and 14-2 on goal.
 
Triston O'Hagan (7) and Sean McCarthy (4) combined for 11 saves for the Nor'easters. Brady Allen earned the win in goal for Western New England and made two stops over the first 76:49 of play. Colin Waltsak was untested over the final 13:11.
 
UNE visits Westfield State on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
