BIDDEFORD, Maine – Zekariya Shaib scored two minutes into overtime to push the University of Southern Maine past the University of New England, 2-1, in a men's soccer matchup at Hazard Field on Saturday afternoon.

USM turned up the pressure in the second half with an 8-3 advantage in shots and led 13-6 with attempts on the day. Sean Brueninghaus tied the game for the Huskies on a penalty kick goal in the 73rd minute.
McCarthy had four saves on the afternoon. Hayes Estrella stopped one shot to earn the victory in net.
UNE is back in action at home on Monday night against Bates at 7 p.m.
