UNE and USM play to scoreless draw in exhibition match

BIDDEFORD, Maine – The University of New England and the University of Southern Maine played to a 0-0 tie in a men's soccer exhibition match at UNE Blue Storm Stadium on Sunday morning. It was the first game action for either team in over a year.
 
The Huskies outshot the Nor'easters 11-1 in the first half, but play evened up the rest of the way.
 
Southern Maine had its best chance in the 29th minute as a shot by Abedom Gebreyesus was blocked by the Nor'easters. Sean Breuninghaus launched the rebound, but Ethan Dispoto was able to make a diving stop to keep the game scoreless.
 
Sam Farr took a late shot in the second overtime for UNE, but Hayes Estrella made the stop to secure the draw.
 
Will Shearon played most of the game in net for the Nor'easters, making three saves. Dispoto stopped three shots in limited action during the latter portion of the opening frame. Estralla had three saves for the visitors.
