BIDDEFORD, Maine – Western New England University took down the University of New England, 15-2, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's lacrosse action at UNE Blue Bolt Field on Wednesday afternoon.
The Golden Bears were led by Mike Bannon and Brendan Lyons who each had three goals and an assist. Dylan Hanley and Conor Tracy tallied two goal apiece. Nick Gamba scored once and dished out four assists.
Western New England controlled play from the start and scored the first nine goals of the game.
Alden Balboni put the Nor'easters on the board with 11:50 to go in the second quarter. The visitors led 13-1 at the half.
Luke Serdechny and Dylan Hanley added goals for the Golden Bears in the third and fourth quarters, respectively.
Kyle Kennedy found the back of the net for his first of the season for UNE late in the fourth.
Carter Randall and Sean McCusker each made six saves for Western New England.
Alex Thoms made eight stops and allowed just two goals for Nor'easters in the second half.
UNE returns to action on Saturday at Roger Williams at 1 p.m.
