BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Mount Holyoke College received eight solo event wins from five swimmers on the way to a 151-106 decision versus the University of New England on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 6) at the Campus Center Pool.

Eilza Wiliams, Hannah Heierhoff, and Evelyn Bushway each captured two races for the visitors. The Lyons also took the 200-yard medley relay behind Anais Magner, Bushway, Kamlyn Yosick, and Megan Schneider, who posted 2:02.54 to narrowly best the UNE group (Haley Griffin, Annika Doeppers, Olivia Roy, Jamie Roy) at 2:03.36.

Griffin won a couple for the Nor'easters, clocking 1:05.49 in the 100 backstroke and 2:21.85 in the 200 back. UNE's other two individual victories were in the 200 freestyle by April Falstad (2:11.04), and Doeppers in the 100 breaststroke (1:16.31).

The two closest finishes of the day were in the freestyle sprints. Schneider claimed the 50 free (26.51) in front of Yosick (26.92) and Griffin (26.97). Adji Diouf touched first in the 100 free (59.22), while Schneider (59.63) and Falstad (59.80) were barely off the pace.

UNE will visit Simmons University next Saturday.
