BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Bates College wrapped the 1st half on a 15-2 run to stretch its leads to 20 on the way to an 86-48 men's basketball decision over the University of New England at Coach Beaudry's Court inside the Harold Alfond Forum on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 28).
After a UNE three-pointer cut the margin to 30-23 with just over three minutes left in the opening period, Simon McCormick answered with a triple of his own to spark the Bobcats' separation. Bates (3-2) led 45-25 at the break, shooting 44 percent (18-for-41) from the field and limiting the Nor'easters to just 6-of-31 accuracy (19.4 %).
Jahmir Primer went 10-of-17 from the floor en route to a game-high 21 points for the visitors. Drew Sachs and Andrew Snoddy added 11 and 10 points, respectively, while Stephen Ward scored 10 and hauled in nine rebounds. Devin Harris also grabbed nine boards, helping a 58-48 edge on the glass. McCormick totaled nine points, seven assists, and four steals.
Bates connected at a 47.4 percent clip overall (36-of-76) and tallied 48 points in the paint.

Alex Kravchuk tossed in 19 points.
Ric Castillo went for five points and eight caroms. The hosts finished with a field-goal percentage under 20 percent (15-of-77).
The Nor'easters resume Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Wednesday (7:30 p.m.) against Suffolk University.
