BEVERLY, Mass. -- Amanda Gilbert registered 12 kills with an attack percentage of .500 to lead No.1 Endicott College over No.8 University of New England, 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-11), in the quarterfinals of the 2021 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Women's Volleyball Championship on Tuesday night (Nov. 2) at MacDonald Gymnasium.
The Gulls (19-8) move on to the semifinal round on Thursday and will face No.5 Salve Regina University, which rallied from a two-set hole to top Wentworth Institute of Technology

Gilbert (CCC 1st Team) also had a match-high 11 digs for the hosts. Riley Donahue (CCC 1st Team/Rookie of the Year) added nine kills and nine digs, and Colleen McAvoy put down six more kills. Lauren McGrath (CCC 2nd Team) tallied 20 assists for Endicott, which hit at a .326 clip as a team.
UNE's attack was paced by
Viktoria Pavlyuk with six kills.
Lauren Davenport and
Adryona Miller had four kills apiece, while
Rachel Possidento contributed three, all with the aid of 17 assists from
Addie Miller. Defensively,
Paige Weatherbee totaled seven digs,
Shiloh Osmer six, and
Morgan Lynch five.
The Nor'easters jumped out to a 5-2 edge in the 1st set behind a couple winners from Davenport, but the Gulls turned in 12 of the next 14 to take control. Six different Endicott players factored in earning points during the run.
UNE was up 10-8 after a back-and-forth start to the 2nd, before a 9-2 stretch flipped the advantage for the home squad (17-12). Down 23-15, the Nor'easters made a late push -- which included two of the three blocks by
Mia Martel -- but the deficit was too large to overcome.
Endicott got off to a 6-1 cushion in the 3rd and never looked back.
