BOSTON -- Meg Driscoll captured three events for Simmons University in a 167-95 women's swimming result against the University of New England on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 13) at the Holmes Sports Center.
Out of her wins -- 50-yard breaststroke, 100 breaststroke, and 100 individual medley -- Driscoll closest finish came in the 50 breast, as her 34.52 was 1.07 seconds ahead of UNE's
Annika Doeppers.
Lauren Howard claimed the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle for the Sharks, while Eva Piernas took the 500 freestyle and 1,000 freestyle. Camelia Hannah also touched first in a couple of races -- after the 50 backstroke, her 100 backstroke time of 1:05.94 was good enough to edge Nor'easter
Haley Griffin by 0.82 seconds.
Katie Durrua registered the lone victory for UNE, clocking a 1:04.89 in the 100 butterfly to narrowly best Simmons' Ella Harmon in the tightest swim of the day (+0.19).
Olivia Roy was third in the event, less than one second back of Durrua.
The Sharks received first-place support from Emma Serth in the 200 freestyle (2:10.76), just in front of UNE's
April Falstad. Hailey Stuck also contributed top points in the 50 butterfly (29.30), fractionally faster than Roy at 29.86.
Additionally, Simmons picked up the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.
The Nor'easters will travel to Maine Maritime Academy next weekend.
