Dimmick named CoSIDA Academic All-District® in soccer

BIDDEFORD, Maine -- University of New England defender Erica Dimmick has been recognized on the 2021 Academic All-District® Division III Women's Soccer District 1 First Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), as it was announced on Thursday (Nov. 11).

The award highlights the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom.

The senior from Sutton, Mass. was a starting back for the Nor'easters from day one at UNE, playing 54 of the 60 games over the three full seasons in her time. Dimmick became a two-time Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) all-league performer in 2021, garnering 2nd Team status after picking up a 3rd Team nod in 2019 as a sophomore. This season, she was a key factor in 12 UNE shutouts over 19 outings, part of a defensive unit that allowed less than six shots-on-goal per contest. Dimmick also doubled her career goal total from two to four, including one in the CCC quarterfinals.

Dimmick is currently a three-sport student-athlete at UNE, moving on to basketball next, and then to track & field, where she is already an All-CCC honoree. She is majoring in animal behavior and minoring in mental health rehabilitation, and has been recognized academically as an inductee into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society and the Psi Chi Honor Society, as a member of CCC Academic All-Conference Team, and on UNE's Dean's List.
