UNE and Husson battle to 1-1 draw

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Each team scored just over a minute apart in the second half as the University of New England and Husson University tied 1-1 in men's soccer action at Barbara J. Hazard Field on Tuesday night.
 
In the 70th minute, Triston O'Hagan made a save off a free kick by the Eagles and quickly booted it up field ahead of everybody. After a bounce, Alex Woodworth was able to fight off a Husson defender and diving goalkeeper to put it home on an empty net for his second of the year to give UNE a 1-0 lead. [Watch]
 
Ben Shumway headed in a goal off a corner kick by Fred Longo only 1:11 later to knot the score back up.
 
Husson (7-2-3) had all the attempts in overtime and nearly scored in the second extra period as a shot by Alejandro Mora Abad caromed off the left post.
 
Shots favored the Eagles 17-4 overall and 8-1 on goal. O'Hagan made seven stops for the Nor'easter (1-9-1).
 
UNE returns to the field on Saturday afternoon for a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) road contest at Roger Williams at 3 p.m.
