BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott College scored five goals in the second half on its way to a 6-0 victory over the University of New England in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's soccer action on Wednesday afternoon.
The Nor'easters (1-13-1, 0-7-0 CCC) were able to keep the Gulls (6-6-1, 5-1-1 CCC) off the board for most of the first half. Tristan O'Hagan made eight saves in the period. Endicott struck in the 42nd minute as Codan Foley headed in a cross off the foot of Max McCurdy to give the hosts a one-goal cushion at halftime.
Joe Mepham found Cole Fergusson for a goal early in the second half to extend the lead to 2-0. Mepham finished with two assists on the night.
The Gulls scored three times in a span of 3:11 to put the game out of reach. In the 67th minute Austin Wickham put home his first of the season with help from Max Karkos. Tiago Frazao followed, finishing a corner kick from Keveen Delgado just over a minute later. Karkos scored a goal of his own to put Endicott in front 5-0 with a little over 20 minutes remaining. Hayden Laske added the final score in the closing minute.
Shots were lopsided in favor of the Gulls at 37-5 overall and 10-2 on goal. O'Hagan finished with 10 saves for UNE. Kyle Rosa made two stops in the shutout.
