Leopards blank Nor’easters

BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Wentworth Institute of Technology took down the University of New England, 5-0, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's soccer action on Saturday at Barbara J. Hazard Field.
 
Nathan Gosselin scored his first of two penalty kick goals in the 15th minute to put the Leopards in front. Juan Cedeno knocked in his first of the season off an assist from Alex Moore in the 43rd minute to give Wentworth at 2-0 lead at halftime.
 
Augustin Edwin Jr. found a sliding Jacob Dukeshire with a cross to extend the lead for the visitors. Gosselin added his second goal in the 59th minute. Edwin Jr. headed in a pass off the foot of Moore late in the match for his second point on the day.
 
The Leopards controlled play and outshot the Nor'easters 24-1. Derek DeSantis had the lone shot for UNE late in the first half.
 
Triston O'Hagan made seven stops in the loss. Louis Quintero saved one in the shutout.
 
UNE is back at home Tuesday night against Husson at 6 p.m.
