Two second-half goals lead Curry past UNE

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Curry College broke a scoreless tie with two goals in the first five minutes of the second half on its way to a 2-0 victory over the University of New England in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's soccer matchup on Friday night.
 
The Nor'easters (1-12-1, 0-6-0 CCC) were able to keep the game 0-0 in the first half despite being outshot 16-1 in the period. Triston O'Hagan had nine of his 13 saves in the first 45 minutes.
 
Giovanni Martin broke through for the Colonels just 28 seconds into the final half. Nick Corso aided on the go-ahead goal. Dom Simpson put in his own rebound off a saved penalty kick in the 50th minute to double the lead.
 
Shots finished 28-4 in favor of Curry who improved to 8-4-3 overall and 3-2-1 in conference play. Kyle Tremblay was untested in goal for the Colonels.
 
UNE visits Endicott on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
