Statistics

BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Kaleigh Putnam registered 27 points to help lead Endicott College to an 84-69 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's basketball result against the University of New England on Wednesday evening (Feb. 5) at the Harold Alfond Forum.

The Gulls (12-9, 9-3 CCC) added a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds off the bench from Mikaela Rogers, who scored 14 following halftime. Emily Pratt totaled 12 points and eight boards, while Shannon Gilbert and Morgan Bresnahan had 11 points apiece.

Endicott made 31-of-62 field goals in the game and out-scored UNE by 32 points inside the arc. The visitors also tallied 22 points off 18 opponent turnovers.

For the Nor'easters (16-5, 10-2 CCC), Abby Cavallaro hit five treys and ended with 17 points. Jocelyn Chaput, Sadie Nelson, and Ashley Coneys all posted 11 points, and Kaylee Beyor had 10 points with seven rebounds. The hosts did manage a 27-6 scoring advantage from long range, but only connected on 35 percent of their shot attempts in the contest (22-of-63).

Both sides came out strong and drained 9-of-17 from the floor during the initial 10 minutes. The Gulls used a late 8-2 spurt to take the lead for good (23-18) near the conclusion of the frame, and maintained a small amount of separation on the way to a 43-38 edge at the midway break.

A 13-2 run in the 3rd quarter pushed the gap up to 14 (58-44), although UNE notched eight of the last 10 in the period to draw back within eight (62-54). That was the margin three more times as the teams traded points early in the 4th before EC put things away.

The Nor'easters resume action next Tuesday (5:30 p.m.) when Curry College (2-9 CCC) comes to town.
