BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Zach Bossi scored twice in a four-goal spurt during the 3rd quarter as the University of New England men's lacrosse team built its lead up to six on the way to a 13-8 victory over Plymouth State University on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 29) at UNE Blue Bolt Field.

The Nor'easters (3-0) got on the board first with a pair of goals from Noah Luccini and never looked back. The cushion was 4-1 at the half, and grew to 8-2 after a Sam Palmisano tally with 5:!5 left in the 3rd frame. The Panthers got back within three near the midway mark of the 4th (9-6, 10-7), but man-up goals from Bossi and Collin Morrow padded the margin.

Bossi had a team-high four scores and Garett Bozek led the squad with seven points that included five assists. Alex York joined Luccini and Bozek with two goals, and Jack Martin also found the back of the net once.

Jared Duffy went 10-for-12 at the face-off X and had seven ground balls, and Adam Race contributed six ground balls with four caused turnovers. Sam MacKenzie made nine saves to backstop the decision for UNE.

Jake Dolcimascolo paced the Panthers (0-1) with three goals, and Connor Delea added two. Robert Porter had 13 stops.

The Nor'easters are back in action Wednesday (4 p.m.) at home against the University of Southern Maine.
