SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- University of New England first-year guard Siddiq Canty has been named as the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Rookie of the Year, while junior guards Avery DeBrito and Alex Kravchuk have landed all-conference selections, as the 2019-20 men's basketball awards were released Monday (Feb. 24) by CCC Associate Commissioner Doug Chin.

DeBrito and Kravchuk both received 3rd Team status through the vote by the league's nine head coaches.

Canty, who shared the major accolade with Jalen Echevarria of Endicott College, becomes the second Nor'easter tabbed as the top newcomer since UNE joined the conference in 1999. For Kravchuk, it marks his second pick to the third team in as many seasons.

The Nor'easters concluded the year with an overall ledger of 13-12 and 7-9 in league action.
