BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England and Westfield State University battled to a 1-1 double overtime tie in women's soccer action Saturday afternoon (Sep. 7) at Barbara J. Hazard Field.

The Nor'easters (1-0-2) took advantage of a defensive miscue to take the lead in the 11th minute, as Katie Beaudoin touched one into an open cage. The Owls (1-2-1) found the equalizer in the 61st minute, when a cross from the right wing by Gianna Moncecchi was flicked towards the middle of the six-yard box off the head of Bella Eduardo, and Lydia Kinsman was there alone for the finish.

Both sides had chances throughout the 20 minutes of extra time, but could not break the deadlock. The visitors ended with a 23-13 edge in total shot attempts.

Jenna Pannone matched a career-high with 10 saves for UNE, while her counterpart from WSU, Lauryn Davis, totaled four stops.

The Nor'easters head for the University of Maine-Farmington on Wednesday.
