Katie Flynn put down a season-best 12 kills in just two sets as the University of New England women's volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 victory (25-8, 25-13, 25-8) over the University of Maine-Presque Isle on Friday evening (Sep. 13) at the Harold Alfond Forum.
Micaela McNamara added six winners for the Nor'easters, who received 24 assists from
Sydney Christiansen.
Katie Marsh and
Molly Camelo each dropped in three service aces, while Marsh totaled 11 digs and
Paige Simoneau recorded eight more. Like Flynn, each of the starters only appeared in two frames.
The last time UNE stood at 6-1 on the season was 2002.
For the Owls (0-4), Maddi Thweatt had two kills and 10 digs. Miranda Washinawatok picked up 12 digs.
The Nor'easters visit Colby College on Tuesday.
