MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College men's lacrosse team defeated the University of New England, 20-14, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Katz Field on Wednesday evening.
The Colonels (6-7, 3-3 CCC) outscored the Nor'easters (5-8, 0-4 CCC) by a 10-3 margin in the second quarter to turn a two-goal deficit into a 13-7 lead at halftime. Devin Newell scored four of his game-high six goals in the period. UNE trimmed the lead to four goals in the third quarter and pulled as close at 16-13 with 8:13 left in the fourth.
Kyle Ton scored four goals for Curry, and Harrison Fallon contributed a goal with four helpers. Josh Teller earned the victory between the pipes with 10 saves.
The Nor'easters were led by
Garett Bozek and
Alex Zadworny with three goals and two assists each. Alex Beveridge and
Zach Bossi both scored twice.
Sam MacKenzie had 12 stops for UNE.
UNE returns home on Saturday (April 13) afternoon at 1 p.m. against Salve Regina University.
