Suffolk rallies to edge UNE, 8-6

WINTER PARK, Fla. -- Suffolk University scored three times in the top of the 5th and four more in 7th to overtake the University of New England softball team for an 8-6 result at The Spring Games on Sunday morning (Mar. 10).

Jaclyn Flint topped the Rams (3-0) with two hits and three RBI, while Caitlin Murphy supplied a two-RBI double to start Suffolk back from a 5-1 deficit. Murphy also scored three times, and Constance Phelan picked up the pitching decision in five frames of relief.

The Nor'easters (0-1) received two hits apiece from Sarah Lachapelle and Meg Harvey, and Lachapelle knocked in one each time. Sydnee Bessler fanned five batters in the setback.

UNE started the bottom of the 7th with three straight hits to get within a pair, but couldn't get any closer.
