Gulls run through Nor’easters, 49-7

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott College defeated the University of New England, 49-7, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Football action at Hempstead Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Gulls rushed for 324 yards, led by Greg Ruff with 147 and a score, and amassed 551 total yards on the day. Anthony Whiteley added 85 yards on the ground. UNE was held to just 221 yards of offense.
 
Joe Kalosky tossed for 223 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions. Riley Shanley led the receiving corps with 57 yards on three catches and a TD. Zach DeNike caught a team-high seven balls for 35 yards.
 
Brian Peters had 99 yards, a score, and a pick through the air for UNE. Devon Charles (48 yards) and Cam Mann (44 yards) led the ground game. Ryan Gaboury hauled in five passes for 45 yards and a touchdown.
 
Endicott scored early and often as it led 21-0 after a quarter of play. Ruff took the Gulls second play from scrimmage 76 yards for the opening score. Peters threw an interception on the ensuing UNE drive and the Gulls capitalized as Kalosky found Will Genaway for a 15-yard touchdown. He tossed another TD to Anthony Bracamonte to close out the first quarter.
 
UNE got into the Endicott territory on its first drive of the second quarter, but was stopped on a fourth-and-one. The Gulls answered as Kalosky threw his third TD of the day to Just McEwen from 24 yards out. The score remained 28-0 at the half.
 
Dylan Bonafilio hit Shanley for a four-yard touchdown late in the third quarter. The Nor'easters had their longest drive of the day of 65-yards on 12-plays to score their only points of the afternoon. Peters capped the drive with an 11-yard TD pass to Gaboury to trim the deficit to 35-7.
 
Endicott closed the game with two more touchdowns. Kalosky tossed a two-yard pass to John P Williams. Kyle Camposano ran in from 12-yards out for the final score.
 
Nick Lombard led the way, defensively, for the Nor'easters with 10 tackles (seven solo) and an interception. DJ James and Nick Scarfo added eight tackles. Tim Russell had seven stops and a pick for the Gulls. Colin Kiernan and Hakim Fleming each added two sacks.
 
The Nor'easters close out the regular season at home next Saturday (Nov. 16) against Becker at 12 p.m.
