Fighting Scots get past Nor’easters

WENHAM, Mass.
– The Gordon College men's soccer team scored four times in the first half to pick up a 4-1 victory over the University of New England in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Saturday afternoon.
 
Julius Swaim got things started with a goal in the 19th minute off a pass from Ryan Modzeleski. Jarvin Ramirez scored back-to-back in the 36th and 38th minutes to extend the Fighting Scots' advantage to 3-0. Travis Singh booted home his first of the year in the 42nd minute to give Gordon the commanding halftime lead.
 
Matt Rainville scored his first of the season in the 86th minute to put the Nor'easters on the board.
 
Brody Veleber saved all five shots he faced over the first 74:49 of play to earn the win in net for Gordon. Camden Spear stopped six shots for UNE.
 
The Nor'easters return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at home against Colby at 7 p.m.
