BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Western New England men's soccer team picked up a 3-0 victory over the University of New England in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play on Saturday afternoon at Barbara J. Hazard Field.
The Golden Bears struck early as Matt Remillard scored in a crowd in front of the net in the 8
th minute. Macauley Roulette found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper after he received a long pass from Jeremy Obrecht in the 41
st minutes. Roulette easily scored to put WNE in front 2-0 at the break.
Nick Kubacki added a goal off a corner kick in the 81
st minute. Josh Labonte and Larson Keys assisted on the final score.
Ben Mielnikowski stopped both shots he faced to pick up the clean sheet victory in net.
Camden Spear had four saves for UNE. Shots favored the Golden Bears 12-5 overall.
The Nor'easters visits Wentworth on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m.
