Nor'easters breeze to sweep of SJC

STANDISH, Maine -- The University of New England women's volleyball team shook off a slow start and notched a 3-0 victory (25-20, 25-15, 25-15) over Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Thursday evening (Oct. 10) at the Harold Alfond Center.

It was the second win of the year for the Nor'easters (13-2) against the Monks (5-14), after a similar result in the season-opener.

Katie Flynn led UNE with 11 kills, and Molly Camelo added five along with a pair of service aces. Katie Marsh dropped in four aces to go with 24 digs and eight assists. Sydney Christiansen posted 18 assists.

For St. Joe's, Nicole Baron had eight kills and Hanna Holden framed 11 assists. Bailey Gryskwicz paced the defensive effort with nine digs.

The Nor'easters are back at home on Wednesday (6:30 p.m.) to face Husson University.
