BIDDEFORD, Maine – #12 University of New England men's ice hockey team extended its unbeaten streak to seven games with a 6-0 victory over Becker in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at the Harold Alfond Forum on Saturday afternoon.
 
After a scoreless first period that saw the Nor'easters outshoot the Hawks 26-3, UNE scored three times in each of the final two frames to pick up the victory.
 
Brady Fleurent put UNE in front with a score from the left circle, his 13^th of the season, just 3:35 into the second period [Watch]. Aaron Aragon added two quick scores just 22 seconds apart, including one on a power-play, to extend the advantage to 3-0. [Watch] [Watch]
 
Brett Mecrones buried a one-time off a pass from Liam Neuman to start the third period [Watch]. Liam Darcy went coast-to-coast following a Becker clear attempt as UNE went up 5-0 with 9:05 to play [Watch]. Fleurent found Jeff Eppright in front of the net late for the final Nor'easter score [Watch].
 
UNE recorded a season-best 68 shots on goal. Grant Martens made 58 saves for the visitors. Tate Sproxton stopped all 14 shots he faced for his first shutout of year.
 
The Nor'easters return to the ice on Friday, Jan. 25 against Wentworth. UNE will be holding its Third Annual Teddy Bear Toss. Puck drops at 7 p.m.
