NASHUA, N.H. -- Rivier University defeated the University of New England by a 3-0 margin (25-23, 25-16, 25-18) in women's volleyball action Thursday night (Sep. 27) at Muldoon Gymnasium.
The Raiders (11-5), who survived an opening set that was separated by no more than three points, received a double-double of 10 kills and 10 digs from Taylor Dunster. Sydney Racevicius and Jess Whyte each added seven kills, and Hayley Macken totaled 30 assists. Defensively, Avery Pollard and Taylor White went for 12 and 11 digs, respectively.
The Nor'easters (4-10) got eight winners from
Rene Roggenbuck and six more kills out of
Paige Simoneau.
Stephanie Erickson registered 7.5 points that included three solo blocks, and
Sydney Christiansen tallied 21 assists.
Katie Marsh notched a match-best 17 digs.
UNE heads for the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth on Saturday (1 p.m.).
