UNE opens CCC play with sweep of Bison

DUDLEY, Mass. -- Molly Camelo registered a team-high 12.5 points and Rene Roggenbuck put down 11 kills with an attack percentage of .647 to help pace the University of New England in a 3-0 women's volleyball victory (25-19, 25-11, 25-12) over Nichols College as Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) began Wednesday evening (Sep. 19) at the NC Athletic Center.

Camelo totaled nine kills and three service aces for the Nor'easters (4-7, 1-0 CCC), who won for the third straight outing. Joining Roggenbuck with double digit winners was Katie Flynn with 10, and Paige Simoneau added six more. Sydney Christiansen framed 35 assists to lead the offense and contributed seven digs to the defense, which received 20 digs out of Katie Marsh.

For the Bison (4-7, 0-1 CCC), Megan Gardner had eight kills. Jayleen Fegan supported with six kills and 11 digs, and Zoe Chevrette notched 19 assists.

UNE returns home for another league contest versus Western New England University on Saturday (1 p.m.).
