Statistics

BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England women's volleyball team hit at a blistering .461 clip on the way to a 3-0 victory (25-11, 25-16, 25-13) over Elms College on Saturday afternoon (Sep. 15) at the Harold Alfond Forum.

Winners of back-to-back matches since stepping onto their home court, the Nor'easters (3-7) were clicking right from the start of the 1st set. A 15-4 run that included 10 kills provided most of the separation during the opening frame, as the hosts posted a .571 attack percentage in the session.

The eighth tie of the 2nd came at 11-all, before UNE tallied 10 of the next 12 points to gain control. After a 4-0 opening to the 3rd, the Nor'easters soon followed with a 9-1 spurt to put things out-of-reach.

Katie Flynn led the offensive effort with 12 kills, while Rene Roggenbuck added 11 by way of a .588 hitting mark. Molly Camelo turned in a double-double of 10 kills and match-best 17 digs, and Katie Marsh scooped up 13 digs on the back line. Sydney Christiansen notched seven kills in nine tries, to go with 42 assists and 11 digs.

Christiansen's 14.0 assists/set was the most in a UNE match in more than 17 years, which includes several before the scoring change in 2008 that reduced sets from 30 to 25 points.

For Elms (6-3), Danielle Redding and Hannah Adams went for eight and six kills, respectively. Dakota Stewart totaled 23 assists and 11 digs.

UNE will open up its Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) schedule on Wednesday (6 p.m.) at Nichols College.
