BIDDEFORD, Maine – Gordon College defeated the University of New England, 1-0, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's soccer action at Barbara J. Hazard Field on Saturday afternoon.
The Nor'easters nearly took an early lead as a shot by
Katie Beaudoin caromed off the post. Then, following a scramble in front of the goal, Tori Caswell booted home the eventual game-winner in the 39th minute for the Fighting Scots (3-3, 1-0 CCC).
UNE (1-3-1, 0-1 CCC) was able to keep Gordon off the board in the second half, but was unable to tally a goal of its own.

Emily Ashman (6) and
Jenna Pannone (5) combined for 11 saves for the hosts.
UNE returns to action at home on Tuesday night against Husson University. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
