BIDDEFORD, Maine – Gordon College used two goals apiece from Tyler Modzeleski and Jarvin Ramirez to grab a 5-0 victory over the University of New England in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Barbara J. Hazard Field on Saturday afternoon.

Modzeleski put the Fighting Scots (4-2, 1-0 CCC) in front in the 6th minute with his fourth goal of the season. Four minutes later, Ramirez converted on a free kick from 25-yards out that ricocheted in off the crossbar. Ramirez added his second in the 19th minute, dribbling by the UNE goalkeeper and scoring on an open net to make the score 3-0 at halftime.

Ramirez, who accounted for six total points on the day, found Josh Beveridge for a goal early in the second half. He later connected with Modzeleski off a corner kick for the final Gordon goal.

The Nor'easters' best opportunity came early in the second half as a rocket off the foot of Lee Esposito went just over the crossbar.

Will Shearon made eight saves on the afternoon for the hosts (1-4, 0-1 CCC).

UNE returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 18 on the road at Colby College. Kickoff in Waterville, Maine is set for 4 p.m.
