BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Six players in double figures powered No.2 Bowdoin College in a 106-55 result against the University of New England in women's basketball action Tuesday evening (Nov. 20) at the Harold Alfond Forum.
The nationally-ranked Polar Bears (3-0) posted 1st-quarter runs of 11-0 and 10-0 to build an 18-point lead through 10 minutes and never looked back. Bowdoin shot 60.3 percent (38 of 63) from the field in the contest, which included a 13-for-25 effort behind the three-point arc.
Abby Kelly shared the game-high of 17 points and had a match-best six rebounds for the Polar Bears, who corralled a 39-19 advantage on the glass. Maddie Hasson went for 15 points, Hannah Graham registered 13, and Sela Kay totaled 12. Taylor Choate and Moira Train each accounted for 10 points; Choate also dished out eight assists, and Samantha Roy helped with seven more.
Bowdoin converted 28 UNE turnovers into 38 points going to the other way.
The Nor'easters (2-3) received a season-high 17 points from
Sadie Nelson on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor.
Faith Connors hit her two attempts from deep to end with six points.
UNE is slated to visit Bates College on Sunday (3 p.m.).
