Bobcats roll past Nor’easters

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Bates College picked up a 3-0 victory over the University of New England in women's soccer action Sunday afternoon at Barbara J. Hazard Field.
 
The Bobcats controlled play most of the first half and held a 15-5 advantage in shots during the period. Anastasia Leff put Bates on the board in the 33rd minute as she blasted a shot from the top of the box. Late in the half, Leff found Kelley Reynolds for a goal to put the Bobcats in front 2-0 at the break.
 
So Kim added her 10th goal of the year in the 85th minute as Riley Turcotte fed her a pass ahead of the UNE defense deep in the box.
 
Emily Ashman made seven saves for the Nor'easters, while Katherine Nuckols and Nicki Lane combined for six stops for Bates.
 
The Commonwealth Coast Conference-leading Nor'easters are back in action at home on Saturday against Nichols. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
