UNE downs UMaine Farmington, 3-1

BIDDEFORD, Maine – The University of New England men's soccer team won its third straight game on Wednesday night, 3-1, over the University of Maine-Farmington at UNE Blue Storm Stadium.
 
Danny O'Brien put the Nor'easters (4-7) in front in the 33rd minute as he converted a bicycle kick off a long throw by Cody Kennedy [Watch]. Kennedy connected with Callum Heaslewood just over a minute later to extend the UNE lead to 2-0 at the break [Watch].
 
The Nor'easters added another in the 70th minute as Flynn Willsea headed home a cross from Matt Rainville for his first goal of the year [Watch]. Biwe Aden put UMF (3-7) on the board in the 74th minute as he received a long pass ahead of the defense from Nate Campbell.
 
Tom Benoit made four saves for UNE is his first start of the season. The Nor'easters out-shot the Beavers 17-12 overall and 8-5 on-goal.
 
UNE hosts Salve Regina University in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 1 p.m.
